Why did you choose to go to Ljubljana, Slovenia?

I chose to go to Ljubljana as it would be my first time leaving on my own abroad and I wanted to stay in a rather small city. Also Ljubljana is a lot cheaper than most European countries.

How long is the scholarship? How much money do you receive to help you with living costs?

My scholarship is for 3 months and I get 550 euros each month.

What is the food like?

Food in Ljubljana is really really good. You have many options. You can either have local food or try some of the international and ethnic options. Also the prices are affordable.

Did it cost you to find your accommodation in Ljubljana?

It didn't cost me as I got help from a family member.

How much does it cost to live in Ljubljana?

The cost of living in Ljubljana depends on each person. For me for example in order to live well in Ljubljana you need 250 per month (rent excluded)

Is the language easy to get to grips with? Are there language courses available at the University?

Actually Slovene is a bit hard especially if you come from Mediterranean countries. Although there are free language courses available at the University.

The easiest way to travel to Ljubljana from Athens was by plane. Although it was expensive. The most economical way would be to go by plane into Croatia and then by bus from Croatia to Ljubljana.

And for eating? Can you recommend some good restaurants in Ljubljana?

For eating I would recommend the Abi falafel in Trubarjeva, The wok where you can get cheap and super tasty noodles and also you can find a lot of burgers in really good prices.

Is there any other advice that you could give to students going to Ljubljana in the future?

Travel a lot. Get the bonuses in order to have cheap food and book the houses in advance as it's super difficult to find a place to stay.
