What is it like to live in Ljubljana? Would you recommend it? What is the city like?

Ljubljana is like a fairytale city, everything is clean transport are efficient, u can go almost everywhere with bike or walking and there are many nice green places. Quality of life is really good here and i can definetly recommend it.

What is the student lifestyle like in Ljubljana?

Ljubljana is definetly a student city, you can really feel the difference when all the slovene students go back at home in the weekend. There are many faculties and nice places to study like the NUK (an amazing library designed by the famous slovene architect Jože Plečnik) and many others, parties and social life is especially in the students dorms, i was in Rozna Dolina the oldest and most famous among students and is really nice there.

How much does it cost to live in Ljubljana?

Ljubljana is not expensive city, specially compared to countries like Italy, France, Germany UK ecc. living in the dorms and with students coupons you can save a lot of money and erasmus parties are cheap, there are many discounts fot students.

Is it difficult to find accommodation in Ljubljana? Is there any advice you can give?

I lived in the dorm in Rozna Dolina, so i didn't search for private accomodation, anyway i know that can be expensive if you don't search or it in advance and you want it in the city center.

What is the food like? What are your favourite dishes?

In Ljubljana you can find many restaurants where you can eat any dffierent type of meals for very cheap price thanks to studenski boni system and in the market also you can find products from everywhere, typical food here is meat and potatoes generally but also in some slovene restaurants you can find different specialities.

What places would you recommend visiting in Ljubljana?

There are many nice place to see in Ljubljana, first of all the castle from where you can enjoy nice view of the city, then tivoli park when the weather is good is awesome place to go running or relax and have a picnik, but my favourite is definetly the riverside place in Trnovo district a green area with stairs next to the river where realx and have coffee and enjoy the beautiful landscape.

Is the nightlife good in Ljubljana? Where is good to go?

Nightlife in ljubljana is nice, specially during the week when all the students go out, it is concentrated along slovenska cesta where in 200 metres you have 5 clubs close to each other and chose the one that you prefer, when the weather is good the main square is full of young people drinking. Other spots woth to mention are Metelkova, a very particular alternative district where there are many clubs and different atmosphere, difficult to explain you have to go there! and "dulcis in fundo" the best in the end i'd say the student dorm are where i had best parties and where almost all the students gather to pre-drink or party all the night there (Rozna dolina dorm specially).

What advice would you give future students heading to Ljubljana?

My advice is don't be scared if the city is not famous like others for excahnge because you will have a great time there for sure, and you are going to miss it when you come back.
