Where to buy souvenirs in Lima? Visit these 4 places...
Hello to all you Lima-lovers!
If you are in Lima, or if you are coming to my city, I'm sure that you will want to share a small memory of your time in the City of Kings, or in the case of Limean poeple, if you are going away, I am sure that you will want to buy gifts from Peru for when you are in other places. Thinking about these two possibilities, today I want to recommend four places where you can find home-made crafts and Peruvian souvenirs - the number 1 is most recommended for being the cheapest.
Without further ado, let's start!
-
Plazoleta de Santo Domingo (Close dto Lima)
Next to the Santo Domingo Church (intersection between Conde de Superuanda and Camana) and very close to the Plaza de Armas, there is a recommended place to go to in the search for Peruvian presents. Here especially you will be able to find so much variety of different things like clothes, house objects and decorations for rooms. Everything you can imagine about Peru can be found here and obviously, don't forget to ask for you discount if you buy more than one thing. This is something I always ask for when I go here.
-
Mercado Indio (Distrito de Miraflores)
This place can be found between the first squares of the Petit Thours Avenue and the cross with Ricardo Palma, close by to the Central Park in Miraflores, just a step away. The advantage of coming here is that you are not going to pass through the centre of Lima and you will only be in Miraflores. This should be your point of call for buying souvenirs, although keep in mind that things here are going to cost a bit more than they would in the Santo Domingo Plaza. There are several galleries where you can also find objects related to Peru and also silver and gold ornaments. Enjoy!
-
Home-made craft market (in the district of Pueblo Libre)
This place is usually recommended for those in a rush, for the people who need to catch their flight and they don't have much time but they want to make a small stop before leaving on either an international or national flight. At 9 of the La Marina Avenue you will find a market of home-made crafts in order to find and buy little gifts that will save you from the rush.
-
The galleries on Street Ancash (close to Lima)
This place is also quite cheap and it can be found on Ancash street. As you go from the Plaza de Armas towards the San Fransisco Convent where you can find the city's catacombs, here you can also find some galleries with little interesting things that you can buy. This place is a little smaller than the previous ones but nevertheless I have put it here for its collection.
Very well! I hope that you have enjoyed this little explanation. Truthfully there are so many more places where you can buy little memories of Peru, like in Larcomar (a shopping centre) or on the Larco Avenue in Miraflores. However, the price will be a lot more expensive and you will spend a bit more, so it is better to go to these ones I have told you about.
As usual, thanks for reading this blog and I hope you have a phenomenal day! See you in the next one,
Until next time, Lima-lovers!
