A sunny afternoon at the park?

If you're bored to tears on a Sunday afternoon and the sun's shining (hello every Sunday in summer... ) then I suggest that you take a visit to Parc de la Boverie. There, you can enjoy a picnic on the grass, geared up in your summer clothes (yes, us Belgians see the slightest bit of sunshine and we make the most of that little miracle), and bask in the sun in front of la Meuse river. It does get busy when the sun's out, but don't worry as the park is so big it's always possible to find a place to sit.

Some people play football, some sunbathe, and some even do barbeques! It really is just a nice, friendly atmosphere.

With regards to scenery, you have a lot of things to see! There's the lake with ducks, geese and other animals; the aviary with wild birds; the pre-school which has rabbits and regularly allows them out to run around the park; the château, the modern art museum and garden; and of course la Meuse river which runs all around the park. You can see the structure in this photo:

In summer, some people risk swimming in the river but I wouldn't if I were you- it's not very clean!

If you live nearby, the park is great for running as it's one of the biggest park's in Liège and you can do three or four laps in half an hour, so it's not too repetitive.

There's often cultural activities or concerts in the park.

Just look how pretty it is!
