Where to live?
When I first got to Liege I had to find a place to live. Many people had already come during the summer to find a place, so then, when they came back in September to start classes, they were set.
However I, on the other hand, wanted more of an adventure and decided to wait until the very last moment to find something: the week-end before classes started. And, oh boy, was it an adventure!
I spent two full days trying to find a kot (a room in a house that's rented out to individual people who later share common areas, such as the kitchen, the toilets and the showers). After searching all over I finally came across the perfect one (or at least a nice enough one that wasn't too far a walk from the town centre or the university).
However, there was a small misfortune: the fastest way to get back from the center was to walk up two, very long, flights of steps. By the time you get to the top you are out of breath and wanting to take off your coat (even if it is freezing cold outside! ). Although, I suppose it's a good, and cheap, way to stay fit!
