“Journal of the life of a Master student”
Hello everyone,
It’s been a fascinating journey of 2 years in this beautiful city Leiria, which all started at the year 2015 in the month October.
I still remember the first day when I arrived late at night around 00:00 in the night and I could see a lot of students hanging out in the city center, which just brought a smile on my face and it was really exciting to arrive. Initially, it was quite difficult for me to adjust to the weather, the people and the culture since I am from India.
When I started to explore this city, the first thing that attracted me was the castle, especially at night; with those lights on it just looks beautiful and eventually that was the first place I visited. Source
The other place which I like the most is the center of the city. It always has a positive vibe with people strolling around, and it kind of gives me a positive sign even when I am down. If I just go for a walk through the city center I do feel better once I reach home again.
Then I went for a cycle ride to Batalha with my friends, to visit the beautiful church... Wow, what a sculptural work! It's one of the most beautiful monuments.
The locals who I have come across are really warm and kind to us and they were very helpful.
I'm going to get some food as I type this, and I’m craving for it, it’s so yummy! Some desserts are from outer space. My favourite dish may be cod, "bacalhau".
Talking about my experience in my academic degree, the IPL college is a reputed institution with excellent highly qualified professors. It was a great experience to be able to share the classroom with such highly knowledgeable professors, I learned a lot of new things from them, the way they work, etc. The college has been really supportive and helpful to us in whatever we ask to make us feel like we were at home, a big thanks to them!
An overall summary of the entire two years is just beautiful memories which I will cherish all my life long of this beautiful city, Leiria.
