What is it like to live in Lagos? Would you recommend it? What is the city like?

It is a funny mix of the good, the bad, and the ugly; depending on your location. If you are on the island, life can be quite good but very expensive. Off the island is very cheap but may be challenging. If you work on the island (while staying on the mainland), the traffic can be a nightmare. Beyond that, it is a city full of life.

What is the student lifestyle like in Lagos?

Student life is fun; off and on campus.
It is one of the most fascinating experiences in life. There is a common saying here "Eko for show". There would never be a dull moment

How much does it cost to live in Lagos?

How much you need will basically be a function of the type of accommodation you have. Private accommodation can be quite expensive. Also, it is usually difficult to get short term contracts. You can have quite a good meal within the campus for as low as 3euro.
Aside from accommodation, you will need between 200euro - 400euro monthly. This will also depend on such factors as the number of times you eat out and go for parties.

Is it difficult to find accommodation in Lagos? Is there any advice you can give?

It is quite difficult to get accommodation, especially on a short term basis. There are private accommodations close to the university, with lots of amenities but can be quite expensive.

What is the food like? What are your favourite dishes?

Great! You can get any type of food from local to continental to Asian dishes. You can always try new things

What places would you recommend visiting in Lagos?

We have quite a number of breathtaking beaches' Elegushi, Eleko, Whispering Palm just to mention a few. You can also visit the conservation center at Lekki. Most importantly, you can visit other great towns on a weekend. You will surely have an unforgettable experience.

Is it good to eat out in Lagos? Can you tell us your favourite spots?

There are many great places to eat out in Lagos. You have quite a load of them in and around the University of Lagos, Akoka.

Is the nightlife good in Lagos? Where is good to go?

Fantastic but with a caveat. Do not take just a random cab in the night.

What advice would you give future students heading to Lagos?

It is a place that offers so many prospects of learning new things. There are some low sides, just like any other city. However, if you could master the do's and dont's of living in Lagos, you will surely glad you did.
