What is it like to live in Lagos? Would you recommend it? What is the city like?

Lagos is the former capital of Nigeria and the most interesting and exciting city to live in. It's a city that never sleeps because of its enchanting and exhilarating night life.

I would recommend Lagos to anyone who is looking to experience Africa at its finest.

However, if you have never visited and African country before, be sure to get anti-malaria shots, plan for the really hot weather and power outages if you will not be staying in a hotel.

I also love the fact that there is always something to see and do, and somewhere to go. There is something for people of all ages in Lagos: music, food, arts, etc can all be found in the city of Lagos.

What is the student lifestyle like in Lagos?

Students always have the most fun because there are special hangout locations for them. Living in Lagos as a student is relatively cheap and always a memorable and exciting experience.

How much does it cost to live in Lagos?

Housing is usually the most expensive part, but transportation and feeding are relatively cheap.

Is it difficult to find accommodation in Lagos? Is there any advice you can give?

The best advice I can give concerning accommodation is to go through lamudi.com or liase with campus france for more information.

What is the food like? What are your favourite dishes?

The food is the best part about Lagos. There are so many fantastic dishes that I am not really sure how to describe them all.

My favourite dishes would be friend or jollof rice and chicken, and pounded yam with Edinkaikong/Afang soup. These soups are made from vegetables that can only be found in Africa and I recommend them to those who possess an adventurous spirit and strong stomach.

I also highly recommend Suya. I can only ask that you explore to find out what it is about.

What places would you recommend visiting in Lagos?

The restaurants, the museum in Badagry, the art and fashion houses.
The best places to have a good time are in Victoria Island (VI), Lekki, Ikoyi, Ikeja and Surulere.

Is it good to eat out in Lagos? Can you tell us your favourite spots?

Definitely a good idea.
My favourite spots would include African Kitchen, the White House in Yaba, Ocean Basket, the Yellow Chilli Restaurant and Bar, the Ice cream factory, Terra Kulture, Southern Sun, among others.

Is the nightlife good in Lagos? Where is good to go?

Yes.
Spice Route in Victoria Island
Ember Creek
Terra Kulture
Freedom House

What advice would you give future students heading to Lagos?

I advise that they prepare for the unexpected and plan for an adventure-filled experience of a life-time.
