What is it like to live in Krakow? Would you recommend it? What is the city like?

Kraków is one of the most important academic centres in Poland with the biggest market square in the world. How is it to live here? AMAZING! Everyone will find in Kraków sth for himself. I live here over 2 years and I fall in love in the city over and over again. Almost everyday I explore sth new, it's simply a magical city.

How much does it cost to live in Krakow?

1 500 zł is completely enough for a month. Of course, everything depends on the costs of your accomodation. But generally you shouldn't spent more that 700-900 zł for a single room. If you do, you're probably overpaying.

Is it difficult to find accommodation in Krakow? Is there any advice you can give?

It's really not difficult to find accomodation here. You can look for announcements on gumtree (it's a kind of a website which contains plenty of different announcements).

What is the food like? What are your favourite dishes?

I'm from Poland so it's rather obvious that I adore polish cuisine. Anyway, I know plenty of foreigners who share my opinion. If you're comming to Poland you definitely have to try pierogi (dumplings), kotlet schabowy, barszcz czerwony, ogórki kiszone and polish vodka of course.

What places would you recommend visiting in Krakow?

You really have to visit a Jewish district - Kazimierz. And don't worry if you get lost there, I always do. The Wawel castle with dragon's lair is another 'must to see' point. We do have a lot of interesting monuments and amazing places. You can read about them in every guide so I think it's pointless to write about it here.

Is it good to eat out in Krakow? Can you tell us your favourite spots?

It's good to eat out in Kraków and we do have a lot of nice restaurants, especially in Kazimierz or on the main square. My favourite spot is Relaks (on św.Tomasza street) where you can eat great and cheap salads. They have some dumplings and pastas too.

Is the nightlife good in Krakow? Where is good to go?

Generally, Thursday is a student's party day but pubs and clubs are opened everyday. We do party a lot during weekends. We usually go to some pub first and than head to a disco. Pubs I reccomend are: Banialuka, Ambasada Śledzia and Kraina Szeptów.
