What is it like to live in Krakow? Would you recommend it? What is the city like?
Krakow is the best touristic city in Poland. If you want to spend your time as a tourist one day would not be enough to see all attractive things. Also, Krakow looks very historic and cultural city. You may notice many amazing medieval buildings.
What is the student lifestyle like in Krakow?
Student lifestyle is going calm there. But there are parties for students, too. There many students walk around the old town of Krakow. You may see them at some bistro or restaurant.
How much does it cost to live in Krakow?
The prices are pretty much the same as in Warsaw. 400-450 euro per month. Goods and food are cheap there. I recommend you to buy a 3-month travel document to save more money. It costs 60 euro for three months. There is also for a month but you would save more money with the 3-month document.
Is it difficult to find accommodation in Krakow? Is there any advice you can give?
Absolutely not! There are many tourists. Therefore, landlords are negotiable. You can simply offer them the price and they might agree. It works if you going to stay for a long time.
What is the food like? What are your favourite dishes?
Polish cuisine is quite alright. There are many types of food such as dumplings, beigels, soups and many more. "Kotlet Schabowy (pork chop)" is good. However, I would recommend you to try Bigos.
What places would you recommend visiting in Krakow?
Wawel castle is quite great and good-looking. Polish Aviation museum is very interesting and useful to get to know. I guess the officials of museums do not charge students. Florianska Street is a sweet place for tourists there are many interesting things you can buy. Simply, the old town consists of dozens of outstanding places and things to do.
Is it good to eat out in Krakow? Can you tell us your favourite spots?
Krakowskie rogale or kifli are the key food there. It is a delicious pastry. People of Krakow cook them in different types with various stuffing. Mainly, they sell them at the old town. If talk about restaurants, then I would recommend you to visit Restauracja Starka. There are good prices and quite relaxing atmosphere.
Is the nightlife good in Krakow? Where is good to go?
Krakow is historic city not for the party. But in the night the old town of Krakow looks even better. It will remind you something unique as if you are in some fairyland.
What advice would you give future students heading to Krakow?
Krakow is a big city you may have difficulties with the maps. Therefore, people of Krakow are friendly and sociable do not afraid to ask questions if you get lost. However, if you there for study, then better study Polish language to feel yourself more confident.
