Erasmus Experience in Krakow, Poland by Moulin
Why did you choose to go to Krakow, Poland?
First, I have already heard that Jagielonski University is good. Then, prices of course, especially for housing. Third, it is student city, it seemed as a city where you can enjoy your student life.
How long is the scholarship? How much money do you receive to help you with living costs?
I stay here for one year. I received about 400 euros per months. It is very good for living in Krakow and travelling also.
What is the student lifestyle like in Krakow?
The city is made for students. There are lots of pub and restaurant very cheap. And so you go out a lot. And then, students use to travel a lot because there are lots of buses to go everywhere (Berlin, Warsaw, Prague, Bratislava... ) and it is very cheap.
Would you recommend the city and the University of Krakow to other students?
Yes, of course!
What is the food like?
I am not a fan of Polish foods. It consists in lots of soups, porks, cabbage and potatoes. But some dishes are quite nice like Pierogis and a Polish soup very popular, "Zurek".
How much does it cost to live in Krakow?
I think you can live here for 400 euros per month easily. But it depends mainly on your flat, because lots of agencies increases prices because of your nationality. A good price for Krakow is about 200 euros per months for a shared flat.
