Why did you choose to go to Krakow, Poland?

Because I have studied for 3 years Polish in high school and wanted to improve my level of Polish.
I also knew that is was a cheap destination with lots of cultural activities and a good nightlife.

How long is the scholarship? How much money do you receive to help you with living costs?

I stay only 6 months and receive the Erasmus+ scholarship : about 120€ per month.

What is the student lifestyle like in Krakow?

In my university (UEK) the ESN association organizes lots of trips and the nightlife in Krakow is great !

Would you recommend the city and the University of Krakow to other students?

Sure !

What is the food like?

The local food is very wealthy : pierogi, zurek, sausages...

Did it cost you to find your accommodation in Krakow?

Yes, few websites are available for foreign students..

How much does it cost to live in Krakow?

I pay a high rent because my flat has a great standing so I would say 600€ per month is ok.

Is the language easy to get to grips with? Are there language courses available at the University?

NO !! Hopefully you can attend to Polish classes at the university.

What's the easiest or most economical way to travel to Krakow from your city?

Airplane (with low cost companies).

Where would you recommend to go on a night out in Krakow?

To some bars such as Pijania and to nightclubs such as Lokal or Prozak.

And for eating? Can you recommend some good restaurants in Krakow?

There are lots of great restaurants. Try to avoid touristic ones (on the main square) and try some Zapiekanki at Plac Nowy or pierogi at Pierogi 24h.

What good cultural sites are there to visit?

A lot..!
Auschwitz of course, the Main Square, Zakopane, the Tatras Mountains (Morskie Oko is great), Mine of salt...

Is there any other advice that you could give to students going to Krakow in the future?

Try not to think too much like "everything is cheap, I don't have to be regarding on prices" because you will spend lot of money in this case !
Do not choose this destination if you hate cold winters !
