Why did you choose to go to Krakow, Poland?

I had previously had a Polish flatmate. Although she wasn't from Krakow exactly, I got to know more about the culture, language and gastronomy of the country. It seemed appealing enough as to dare to move to a much colder and darker country, and soon I realized I wasn't wrong. Also, beforehand I got to know about the Jagiellonski university and the offer they had for international students, it was wide, varied, and most of all: challenging.

How long is the scholarship? How much money do you receive to help you with living costs?

Scholarship from Spain, in 2010, covered very little of the year abroad, despite the fact that Krakow is cheaper than a similar city in Spain.

What is the student lifestyle like in Krakow?

The amazing thing about the student lifestyle of Krakow is that it is as you want it to be.
I chose to immerse myself as soon as possible in the Polish way of living and culture, and also chose to mix as less as possible with students that would speak my native language, since I wanted to improve my English skills and learn a bit of Polish.
All of this was possible and not only that, 3 years after I still have amazing Polish friends and amazing memories with them.
On the other hand, many classmates of mine wanted to live a more "classic" Erasmus, and I can tell they also had a great time: parties are organized, trips with exchange students are possible too.
There are limitless possibilities to enjoy the year abroad; and that's what makes it unique.
