Why did you choose to go to Krakow, Poland?
I wanted to come to Krakow because it was land-locked (I lived by the water all my life), the main airport is Ryanair's airport, and its decently priced for me!
How long is the scholarship? How much money do you receive to help you with living costs?
I can't answer.
What is the student lifestyle like in Krakow?
Lots of fun! The Erasmus team at Krakow know how to keep things interesting! Within the first week we had an event every night, went on a trip and got to know so many people.
Would you recommend the city and the University of Krakow to other students?
Yes!
What is the food like?
Krakow is potato land! There is every kind of pierogi you can think of and everything is hardy and great for a cold day!
Did it cost you to find your accommodation in Krakow?
Yes, I found a place on Airbnb and got my place for $1000 per month (CAD).
How much does it cost to live in Krakow?
Not a lot compared to other places in Europe!
Is the language easy to get to grips with? Are there language courses available at the University?
The language is difficult unfortunately. However, once you get the simple sentences people are patient and are willing to help you out!
There is language courses at the university you can take!
What's the easiest or most economical way to travel to Krakow from your city?
Well I am from Canada so it had to be plane!
Where would you recommend to go on a night out in Krakow?
I would suggest Club 4! I had so many good times there after Bania luka! (It's on the same street of this very popular and cheap bar).
And for eating? Can you recommend some good restaurants in Krakow?
- Wesola Cafe.
- Klimaty Południa.
What good cultural sites are there to visit?
- Wawel Castle.
- Salt Mines.
- Main Square (especially for the Christmas Market).
Is there any other advice that you could give to students going to Krakow in the future?
Definitely come! I came for the winter semester and I absolutely love it here!
