Why did you decide to go to Krakow, Poland?

I chose Krakow because it's cheap, you can live there comfortably on EU Erasmus grants.

How long was your scholarship? How much grant money did you receive?

My scholarship ends in June 2017 and I receive €300 a month.

How was student life in Krakow?

Quite good, you can find people of all nationalities.

Would you recommend the city and the University of Krakow to other students?

This city has a perfect combination of an academic atmosphere and a great nightlife, I totally recommend it.

What’s the food like in Poland?

The food is ok, bigger portions than in Spain. I suggest trying zapiekankas and zurek soup.

Was it difficult to find accommodation in Krakow?

It took a while, it's quite complicated finding accomodation here, as when it comes to rent the costs are quite high.

What's the cost of living in Krakow?

Approximately, if we add up rent, food and general expenses without counting trips, €400 a month.

How was the language? Did you attend any courses at the university?

I speak more Spanish than English here, the city is full of Spanish people, but as pretty much the only Erasmus student in my faculty I only speak English.

What’s the cheapest way to get to Krakow from your city?

I got an offer with Iberia, which included checked-in luggage of up to 23kg, cabin bag and backpack for €65.

Where are the best places to go out in Krakow?

There are so many places, use the Kakao card as a guide, and other than Teatro Cubano, if you want to go to a pub I suggest Banialuka or Pijalnia.

Cheap places to eat are Bordo, Coco, Pod Wawelem and Babcia Malina.

Every part of the city is worth seeing.

Any advice you want to give to future students going to Krakow?

Don't expect it to be very sunny, it hardly is and when the sun does shine it's only for a short while.
