What is it like to live in Košice? Would you recommend it? What is the city like?

Living in Košice is like living in a city where everything has fallen into place and work quiet and smooth. The city centre is very beautiful especially during spring or summer not to mention the breathtaking Cathedral of St. Elizabeth and it's goth architecture. Good choice as an Erasmus city. Many travel options.

What is the student lifestyle like in Košice?

Košice is a city full of students so there are a lot of things to do as a student. Pavol Josef Safarik was my uni, so I can only tell you about this one. Everything was really really nice! The teachers, the exams, the lessons, everything.

How much does it cost to live in Košice?

It depends on the life you do. Košice is a very cheap city. But don't get too excited on this, it's easily to get out of plan. But If you don't have a lot of money to spend don't worry you can still enjoy Košice.

Is it difficult to find accommodation in Košice? Is there any advice you can give?

I was living in Mei hostel. I found my accommodation very easily via my University site (UPJS), and as far as I know from friends that were checking for apartments, it wasn't hard for them to find one either.

What is the food like? What are your favourite dishes?

Let's just say food it's not Košice's strongest option. Prepare yourself for a lot of pizzerias. It's almost everywhere. As far as concern the Slovak food itself I didn't really like it.

Is it good to eat out in Košice? Can you tell us your favourite spots?

There are many restaurants to choose depending on what you like. My favourite ones were Urban Cafe (best ice-cream ever), Med Malina restaurant in Hlavna. Clematis Coffee and Tea Shop and Cathedral Crepes.

Is the nightlife good in Košice? Where is good to go?

Košice has nice nightlife although during winter it might not be at it's best. You can always try Colloseum for starting the night or ending it as it's the last to close and ofc cheapest beer ever there, Tabacka pub (really nice wine too) and Europub (cheap shots). Jazz and Noise clubs.
