Restaurant and pizzeria Peperoncino is another excellent restaurant, situated in Koper, more precisely on the first floor of the Tuš Planet Shopping Centre. It was only opened two years ago, and before that, there was another restaurant at the same place, which was closed down because of the lack of guests.
But Peperončino is different so far, and people seem to just love it. This is one of those restaurants where the food is excellent and the portions are huge, and when you get the main dish, you are already full after you ate half of the portion, but you just cannot stop eating, because the food is so good. And then, when you think you can not eat anything else, they bring the dessert.
The restaurant is divided into three parts: the cafeteria, which is situated at the outside part of the restaurant, and the restaurant itself, which is in the inner part. The cafeteria, besides various drinks, also offers different cakes and other desserts and excellent home – made ice creams.
Peperončino has somehow confusing opening times, because the cafeteria and the restaurant have different opening time. From Monday to Thursday, the cafeteria is opened from 8 to 22, and the restaurant from 9 to 20. On Fridays and Saturdays, the cafeteria is open from 8 to 23, and the restaurant is open from 9 to 21. On Sundays, the cafeteria opens at 8 and closes at 22, and the restaurant opens at 9 and closes at 15.
Peperončino is another restaurant where you can eat at discounted prices as a student, and the price of the student menu is three Euros. For that price, you get:
- Soup: you can choose between two types: vegetable soup, which is different every day, and the ordinary soup.
- Main dish, which you choose from the menu. You can choose between many various dishes, my favourites are definitely: pasta with tuna and corn; grilled fish with pommes frites; pizza vegetariana and salad plate. The menu does not change daily, however, they may add or remove some of the dishes from time to time.
- Salad, which usually consists of lettuce, cucumbers, tomatoes and corn.
- Dessert, which is usually either a small piece of cake or an ice cream.
- A glass of tap water. If you would like to drink anything else, you have to pay extra.
The only thing I did not like in this restaurant is sometimes the service. I understand that a lot of people are coming to this restaurant since it was opened, and it is full everyday, but everytime I eat there, the waiters are very impatient, and they are slamming plates in front of you. But, in fact, their food is simply too good to stop going there.
