Erasmus in Konstanz

I have been in Konstanz during the winter semester in 2015. I have to say it has been a great experience. I chose this city first of all because it was close enough to Italy, second because a friend of mine had been there a year before. The city is pretty new, with a really nice centre. One of the best things is the lake, along which it's possible to go jogging, enjoy a nice walk or take a sit on a bench. I totally loved it. Don't miss the Christmas markets (directly on the lake).

To go out eating isn't that cheap, also because Konstaz is a really rich city, but its' also possible to find good deals. If you're Italian you'll need pizza after a while. "Don Alfredo" is the best solution for that (you'll need to book a week earlier).

The university is amazing! It's kind of a labyrinth but with time you'll get used to it. It's really new, it was built 60 years ago and it has already been renewed. The library is open 24/7 and is astonishing (or that's what I thought).

In Konstanz it's really hard to find a flat, but you'll get an email from "Seezeit", which is sort of a company, that works with the university and that will give you a room in a student dorm. I had been given a room in "Jungerhalde", which is really close to university but a bit far away from the city and actually I didn't go out that often. But there are dorms also in the city or directly where there are clubs.

If you are a student you can buy a semester ticket for buses and ferrys for around 55 euros, which is definitely really cheap (valid through 6 months).

If you get the chance, stay there as long as you can, I stayed just for the winter semester, but the summer semester is definitely amazing.

PS. I found my love there!
