What is it like to live in Kolding? Would you recommend it? What is the city like?

Kolding is a rather quiet and slow-paced city with few places to go out. A handful of restaurants and cafès, though, are affordable and nice to spend time or study at.

I would recommend it to those who would like to focus on their studies!

What is the student lifestyle like in Kolding?

Options of studient activities are rather limited, but the student council is putting effort into making it more appealing to students. There are networking events, fridays are spent at Cafè Ubaden on campus and the sports club are open to international students.

How much does it cost to live in Kolding?

Rent is around 400 Euro for a furnished room in a shared apartment. Prices for groceries and other things are usually at least 20% higher than in Germany.

Is it difficult to find accommodation in Kolding? Is there any advice you can give?

Not difficult at all! The university makes it very easy for internationals to find places to live!

What is the food like? What are your favourite dishes?

Almost everything contains either rye, liquorice, or cinnamon - but Danish food and pastries are delicious!

What places would you recommend visiting in Kolding?

Trapholt Museum, Koldinghus, Botanical Garden with Miniby.

Haven't been able to afford eating out, so I have no idea!

Is the nightlife good in Kolding? Where is good to go?

Pitstop, Knud's Garage and Cafè Ubaden. Nightlife is pretty much the same every weekend. Don't expect too much!

What advice would you give future students heading to Kolding?

Get ready to spend a lot of time studying!
