What is the student lifestyle like in Kaunas?

A popular student place is Džempub, plus some other clubs and bars at the old town. In summer everybody goes to parks or near the lake and just enjoy the sun.

How much does it cost to live in Kaunas?

A dormitory costs between 40 and 100 euros, a room in an apartment costs between 100 and 150 euros, and an apartment more than 200 euros.

Also, the food is kind of cheap. We have a Lidl supermarket and other shopping centres that aren't very expensive.

Is it difficult to find accommodation in Kaunas? Is there any advice you can give?

No, in lithuanian pages you can find lots of apartments but it's more difficult for foreigners to find a place to stay because all the pages are in lithuanian.

What is the food like? What are your favourite dishes?

The food is good, we eat lots of potatoes, vegetables. Everyone should try a cold soup called šaltibaščiai!

What advice would you give future students heading to Kaunas?

Be ready to party, meet lots of friendly people and most of all, don't say any bad words about basketball, because it is second Lithuanian religion!
