Why did you choose to go to Kaunas, Lithuania?

I chose Kaunas mainly because the university offered classes that interested me.

How long is your stay? How much aid do you receive?

My stay is 3 months. I receive €150 per month.

What is student life like in Kaunas?

The atmosphere is pretty good between the Erasmus students and the locals, everyone wants to get to know everyone. It's great.

Would you recommend the city and the university of Kaunas to other students?

The university I would recommend. Very big and well stocked in materials.

The city is not the best but it's fine.

Did you have any trouble finding accommodation in Kaunas?

Not at all, I live in university residence.

What is learning the language like? Do you attend language courses in the university?

I don't take any language classes. But from listening to people speaking I know a few words but just the basics.

What's the best way to get to Kaunas from your city?

Personally, I got a train to Paris then flew from Paris Beauvais to Vilnius. Then I got a train from Vilnius to Kaunas. If you're stuck you can go there by bus but its a very long journey.

What places would you recommend to go out in Kaunas?

There are many clubs and bars in Kaunas such as déjà vu and the Blue Orange which are pretty cool. For clubs, taboo and basement are popular among Erasmus students.

And to eat in Kaunas? What are your favourite places?

Restaurants, after that it depends on your personal taste.

What cultural visits would you recommend?

There are many cultural tours that are organized by the university, they are all very interesting.

What advice would you give to future students in Kaunas?

Don't forget above all else to bring your winter jackets and boots for the snow because Lithuania can drop to -20 degrees Celsius and 3cm of snow and ice
