Why did you choose to go to Katowice, Poland?
I chose to go to Katowice in order to by close to my girlfriend (now my wife).
How long is the scholarship? How much money do you receive to help you with living costs?
4 months (study) + 3 months (internship) for 2050 euros to subsidize my cost of living in Katowice.
What is the student lifestyle like in Katowice?
Words alone can not describe how student friendly the city is. Work and Play is well integrated. And the community is well accommodating foreigners.
Would you recommend the city and the University of Katowice to other students?
Yes, I will recommend the University of Economics in Katowice, Poland to potential exchange students out there. It would be an experience you will always want to re-live again and again.
What is the food like?
Very tasty varieties of food.
Did it cost you to find your accommodation in Katowice?
Although the University provide students with dormitory, I was able to rent a room close to the Uni.
How much does it cost to live in Katowice?
Living in Katowice varies from 100 - 300 euros monthly.
Is the language easy to get to grips with? Are there language courses available at the University?
Polish language is not easy and it is essential to know basic phrases. But language courses are taught in the University.
What's the easiest or most economical way to travel to Katowice from your city?
The most economical way to travel around Katowice is by buses. Also when travelling around Poland you can check out Polkibus for cheap and comfortable journey.
