Why did you choose to go to Katowice, Poland?

I had the opportunity to get a scholarship at the University.

How long is the scholarship? How much money do you receive to help you with living costs?

So here I'm not on the Erasmus program, but monthly it is pretty enough for living here.

What is the student lifestyle like in Katowice?

You can have different activities, parties, make new friends...

Would you recommend the city and the University of Katowice to other students?

I really liked Katowice and I'll recommend to others to visit this city.

What is the food like?

The specific Polish food is pretty different and is not on everyone's taste, but you can find really tasty food.

Did it cost you to find your accommodation in Katowice?

I'm paying for my accommodation monthly at about 600 PLN per month.

How much does it cost to live in Katowice?

The prices here are really low for a European country.

Is the language easy to get to grips with? Are there language courses available at the University?

Here you can find lots of courses for Polish language, and the language is not hard to learn.

What's the easiest or most economical way to travel to Katowice from your city?

By tram, bus or train.

Where would you recommend to go on a night out in Katowice?

There is a night club street there are different bars and clubs where you can stay.

And for eating? Can you recommend some good restaurants in Katowice?

One of the restaurants that I really liked is Dobra Karma, they have vegetarian food, but it's so good that it doesn't need meat.

What good cultural sites are there to visit?

You can visit Krakow, Warsaw, and Gdansk, the last one is just amazing. In Katowice, you can visit museums and there is a small city that was included in UNESCO that is really nice, it's named Nikiszowiec 20 min from Katowice.

Is there any other advice that you could give to students going to Katowice in the future?

Be prepared that people here don't like to speak much in English, but it's easy to manage to it.
