Erasmus Experience in Katowice, Poland by Giuseppe
Why did you choose to go to Katowice, Poland?
About Poland I heard that was a country where the scholarship level of difficulty was really low, indeed it is.
How long is the scholarship? How much money do you receive to help you with living costs?
the courses started on 1 october and finish on 31january. In most of the case on january u are going to attend the last classes and before the end of the month u'll the exams.
What is the student lifestyle like in Katowice?
The student lifestyle in Katowice is focused on lesson which are between 8 to 5, more or less, but consider that there are many free days or break time of different hours between the lessons, that depend on your study plan.
Would you recommend the city and the University of Katowice to other students?
Actually I had several classes to attend in one semester and I passed them with good grade without study as I am used to do. So, yes, I suggest katowice as an erasmus city if you want to improve your average score and don't lose to much on the books (also because they don't use it, just slides)
Did it cost you to find your accommodation in Katowice?
Not really, I found my accommodation via Erasmusu and was easy to manage all.
How much does it cost to live in Katowice?
let's say that, without considering the accommodation, you could spend between €100-250 (depending on your lifestyle). Consider that if you buy in big supermarket it's really cheap, avoid small green market present over all the city. talking about the night-life, being erasmus u have free access to the main disco, instead to drink in some good pub the average required for a 0.5 beer is just €1.3-2.2, let's take ur conclusion.
Is the language easy to get to grips with? Are there language courses available at the University?
Yes, there is a language course available, i didn't attend it. actually doesn't make sense to study polish, at least in my experience, u need just the basic words like "thanks" "please" "you're welcome" "hello" but just to have fun, most of the polish will never interact with u.
What's the easiest or most economical way to travel to Katowice from your city?
Plane

Mariacka is the main street, full of pub and little disco. After the warm-up there are big disco where u can go, such as Pomarancka and Spiz.
And for eating? Can you recommend some good restaurants in Katowice?
nope
What good cultural sites are there to visit?
