What is it like to live in Jaén? Would you recommend it? What is the city like?

Living in Jaén is not bad. Jaén is a province of Andalusia with a lot of history in it. Personally, I like to live here, although sometimes the traffic despairs me. I would recommend living here but not for the university area, but for the downtown area, as there is much more atmosphere, although the downside it is far from the university.

What is the student lifestyle like in Jaén?

The student's life is too expensive to be honest. Although Jaén is cheaper than other Andalusian provinces, life here still seems expensive.

How much does it cost to live in Jaén?

If you are a student living here it would cost you about 350 euros or even a little more, if you go out through the city center.

Is it difficult to find accommodation in Jaén? Is there any advice you can give?

Yes. It is difficult if you actually start looking for apartments very late. My advice is that if you are going to come to Jaén to study, start looking for flats from June or July.

What is the food like? What are your favourite dishes?

Here you can eat the typical food in addition to the Andalusian dishes, as can be migas, paella, manitas de cerdo, etc.

What places would you recommend visiting in Jaén?

I would recommend visit the Castle of Santa Catalina, the Arab Baths, the center of the city and the Cathedral.

Is it good to eat out in Jaén? Can you tell us your favourite spots?

The good thing about Jaén is that it has many villages around it that are closed by and they have a lot of history, besides the bus schedule which is very good. The most emblematic villages of Jaén that are nearby may be: Bailén (with its Battle of Independence in 1808), Linares (with the mansion of the Marquises), Úbeda and Baeza (with its historical and cultural heritage), etc.

Is the nightlife good in Jaén? Where is good to go?

Disco, pubs... I wish I could talk more, but the party is always in the same nightclub, which is called Kharma.

What advice would you give future students heading to Jaén?

Enjoy visiting cities nearby Jaén.
