What is it like to live in Jaen? Would you recommend it? What is the city like?

Jaén is a small city but has everything you'll need. The weather and the food is something worth highlighting in particular. Home of the world's best olive oil. The locals are both friendly and very welcoming.

What is the student lifestyle like in Jaen?

It isn't what you'd call a party town but the nightlife is far from bad. There are a lot of Erasmus parties and in general there is somewhere to go every night of the week.

How much does it cost to live in Jaen?

A room in a shared apartment will cost you around 150€ to 200€, bills included. The flats closest to the university campus are cheaper than those in the city centre. The quality of life is good, as is the relationship between what you pay and what you get in return.

Is it difficult to find accommodation in Jaen? Is there any advice you can give?

It's easy. There are loads of accommodation ads on the message boards at the university.

What is the food like? What are your favourite dishes?

The Mediterranean diet in its purest form! Amazing food. The quality of the olive oil in Jaén goes without saying, whilst its signature dish is La Ensalada de Bacalao with orange and black olives.

What places would you recommend visiting in Jaen?

The cathedral, the castle, El Parque del Bulevar, La Iglesia de San Ildefonso, the seminary and the Old Town are all great places to visit.

Is it good to eat out in Jaen? Can you tell us your favourite spots?

Any of the pubs in the Old Town. With regards to food.

What advice would you give future students heading to Jaen?

It isn't a big city full of lots of different things to do, but, with a little bit of know how, you will easily have one of the best years of your life.
