See Connemara !
If you live in Galway and have the opportunity to take a tour bus or rent a car, Connemara is one of the nearest and most beautiful places to go.
It is located in County Galway, less than 2 hours from Galway City. I would advise you to take your time when driving to it, cause the view is dramatic ! When I went there with my family, we chose to drive along the coast (which makes the journey a bit longer) and stopped by the sea. It is gorgeous !
When you cross villages, you can see the very numerous stone walls they built along the beach and the fields !
Actually, most of the visit can be done from your car (or your bus!) cause it is a very wiiiiide area, and the most impressive are the landscapes.
20 minutes from the Connemara Natural Park, you can find Clifden, a cute little city with typical shops and small restaurants. You can stop for some Irish shopping -and some great Fish and Chips!
You can also come across Kilmore Abey, overlooking a lake. You can have access to the interior if you pay for a visit. We didn't have time to enter, but you can see from outside that it is pretty impressive !
You know what, the best is just to see some pictures, much more explicit than any text!
PS: mind the sheep on the road !
