Is it difficult to find accommodation in Irakleion? Is there any advice you can give?
The start will be difficult if you don't know any Greek people, but it is to easy to get to know one that you won't have any problem. There are many newspapers and sites that you can find a flat but in both cases i think that you should need a Greek person to help you with the language. Remember when you come do not hesitate to ask local people to help you, they will.
