To discover the culture of Nordic countries.
How long is your stay? What kind of help are you receiving?
My stay lasts 5 months and I received a 960 euro Erasmus scholarship.
What is the student atmosphere like in Helsinki?
The student atmosphere is pretty good.
Would you recommend the city and the University of Helsinki to other students?
Yes, however the prices are pretty high and the university needs some work.
What is the food like in Helsinki?
Correct.
Did you have trouble finding accommodation in Helsinki?
No, the organisations that handle student housing do it very well.
What are the costs of living in Helsinki?
High.
What is it like learning the language? Have you been to language classes organised by the university?
Very difficult but not impossible. Finnish courses are available but I haven’t taken any.
What is the most economical way to get to Helsinki from your city?
Plane.
Where would you recommend to party in Helsinki?
The Capital, Milliklubi, Kokomo, Kaiku.
And to eat in Helsinki? Where are your favorite places?
The Barbarossa.
And what cultural sights do you recommend?
The national park is very beautiful and there are interesting museums.
Any advice for future students in Helsinki?
Bring a warm coat!
