What is it like to live in Hamburg? Would you recommend it? What is the city like?

I am not a student in Hamburg but I am often in towm, as I was born in the city. Hamburg is an old historical city. Its interesting how modern life and history gives a good match in Hamburg. The place is an open minded place, because the city is related ti international trade since hundred of years.

What is the student lifestyle like in Hamburg?

I am not a student in Hamburg. Cannot tell anything.

How much does it cost to live in Hamburg?

Hamburg is not a cheap place, as also many tourist are in Hamburg and the city has also a growing population.

Is it difficult to find accommodation in Hamburg? Is there any advice you can give?

Yes. As the demand on the housing market is high. You may find easier accomodation in small cities close by and going by public transport to Hamburg.

What is the food like? What are your favourite dishes?

Fish dishes are very traditional for Hamburg. But also you can find any type of international food in town.

What places would you recommend visiting in Hamburg?

I think there are many interesting places in Hamburg. The Philharmony, then the habour, the miniature world.....

Is it good to eat out in Hamburg? Can you tell us your favourite spots?

There are some good fish restaurants in Blankenese. But also many international restaurants in the city centre.

Is the nightlife good in Hamburg? Where is good to go?

Hamburg is well knowm for the Reperbahn. This is a street with intensive nigtlife 7 days / week.
