Why did you choose to go to Guarda, Portugal?

I've never been in Portugal before and I always wanted to see it. Also I have a lot of friends who are studying in Braga.

How long is the scholarship? How much money do you receive to help you with living costs?

My scholarship was not enough for all Erasmus time (2 semester). It was finished after 5 months. But my Jordanian scholarship (LPJ) help me to have a lot of fun (500$ per month ).

What is the student lifestyle like in Guarda?

The best thing in here is that we have lessons together with Portuguese people. They are very helpful and they like to have fun.

Would you recommend the city and the University of Guarda to other students?

Of course! If you have good friends (Portuguese friends) you can always spent time with smile on your face.

What is the food like?

Food is really good: Cozido à Portuguesa, Bacalhau à Brás.

Did it cost you to find your accommodation in Guarda?

I chose institution dormitory and I think in here is the most economic choice and with good standards.

How much does it cost to live in Guarda?

It depends how you are spending time: to party, traveling, eating in restaurants. With every option is expensive. Almost 500 euro is enough to have fun.

Is the language easy to get to grips with? Are there language courses available at the University?

We have Portuguese course, so everything is possible. But Language is so difficult.

What's the easiest or most economical way to travel to Guarda from your city?

From my city/ country I chose plane. The fastest, but I can't say that is economical.

Where would you recommend to go on a night out in Guarda?

Portugese party home: Espaço F.

And for eating? Can you recommend some good restaurants in Guarda?

T&M Burger! AliBaba in Vivaci and Vallecula.

What good cultural sites are there to visit?

In Guarda you can see the highest point in Portugal and, of course, the Cathedral.

Is there any other advice that you could give to students going to Guarda in the future?

Have a good fun, but don't forgot to travel.

Look for Portuguese friends to have more fun.
