It's a good country with similar customs in Spain.

How long is the scholarship? How much money do you receive to help you with living costs?

What is the student lifestyle like in Guarda?

It's similar to Spain. Classes start at 9. 00 am until 19. 00. After classes, people go to drink some beers to bar near called 'Kapa Negra'.

Would you recommend the city and the University of Guarda to other students?

Perhaps I prefer other city, Guarda is a good city, small and comfortable with friendly people. Food is cheaper too but the party is regular. Coimbra, Viseu, Covilha are better than Guarda.

What is the food like?

There are a lot kinds of food, all food is good. The typical food here is called 'Francesinha'.

Did it cost you to find your accommodation in Guarda?

Residence with other people in the room is 120€, without food, only room and cleaning. Restaurant cost 2'30€ each food, dinner is not included in that price.

How much does it cost to live in Guarda?

With 300€ you will live good here.

Is the language easy to get to grips with? Are there language courses available at the University?

The language is very easy. The courses are available in the university too, you learn bit there and you learn so much speaking with other people.

What's the easiest or most economical way to travel to Guarda from your city?

I think that it's by car, however to catch a flight is cheap too. There isn't an airport here, but Porto airport is near to here.

Where would you recommend to go on a night out in Guarda?

Some bar as Kapa Negra, Bacalhau... and disco too: Cathedral and Praxis.

And for eating? Can you recommend some good restaurants in Guarda?

There are some good restaurants called 'Bola da Prata', 'Portas do Sol', 'Mondego', 'Peixe', 'Divinos'.

What good cultural sites are there to visit?

Cathedral, castle and market.

Is there any other advice that you could give to students going to Guarda in the future?

It's a good city but if you are searching for parties, this is not the place!
