Non-stop partying in Poseidi part 2

After finishing with the part one and the detailed information about what you should bring with you, the facilities and and the prices, now it's time to learn what is really going in the most crazy camping ever! I will make you something like a small diary of a weekend there!

So let's begin!

You call your friends and tell them the idea to go somewhere for the weekend because the weather in Thessaloniki in July is awful, too much hot and sunny. They are -of course - excited by this idea, and you start thinking of possible places to go. However, the wallet is not full enough to stay in a hotel and there doesn't exist a hostel in the peninsula of Chalkidiki, which is the closest area to go for holidays. Someone suggests to go for free camping, but not all the people from the company are in the mood of such quiet and relaxed holidays. Some of them want to party all day and night and meet new people.

Someone has to find the middle solution. And i know it's you, who read the part one of my blog and are already making picture of how Poseidi looks like. You tell them that you know about a place that combines cheap holidays along with partying and meeting a lot of people. You all say ''Well, I don't know how good it will be, but why not? ''.

So, you start packing your bags to visit Poseidi for a weekend. It is the beggining of July, when all the students finish their exams, so you know that there will be crooowd!

You are the kind of people who don't have problem with the crowd, so you know that you will probably have a good time there. But you want to see what's going on first before jumping into conclusions.

You talk with your friends over the phone, arrange the time you will meet, and go altogether to the bus station to take the bus that will drive you to Poseidi. Everyone of you has a bag full of clothes, a sleeping bag, shampoos and all the other important stuff you will need, and for every two or three people, someone carries a tent.

Heyyy, you followed my advice and buy a hammock to take with you, I'm so happy and I know you will not regret it!

It's Friday morning and the sun makes you feel dizzy. However, the thought of the sea and the crazy weekend that it is on the way, makes you feel a little better. You buy a coffee for the way and wait for your friends at the bus station ''KTEL'' where you will take the bus that will drive you to the ''paradise ''.

Finally, after half an hour of delay, your friends arrive. You should be mad at them, but in summer everything seems that it just doesn't worth it! You will be altogether for the next weekend, so why being angry at them?

You go to the ticket's office to buy your tickets ( which costs approximately 10 euros for the students ). You ask tickets for 'Poseidi' and you will see that all the long queue that is waiting along with you, are students who are heading to the same place.

One step closer to your holidays with your ticket in your hand, you are heading towards the overcrowded bus and try to find some space to but your luggage. In the end, you have to take most of the bags upstairs with you because there is not enough space, but still it doesn't bother you.Come on, you can hang on for the next hour and a half!

If you are tired and you are planning to sleep inside the bus, forget it, it's not gonna happen unless you don't have problem with the noise or you use the solution of earphones. My suggestion is not to sleep and enjoy the ride, even more if it is your first time in Chalkidiki.

Day number 1 : Friday

You are thereee! So, what to do first? As we said in part one, you have to register before entering the 'holy ground'! Heyy, i hope you haven't forgot your Id, without it you have no luck in entering, i am sorry!

Fortunately, all of you have everything that needs with you, so you are ready for the registration. Someone has to run fast and get in the long queue. After one or maybe more hours, it is finally your turn to register yourselves. You fill in a paper with your personal information and the people that work take a photo of you for the card that you will receive. Don't worry if you don't look pretty, it is black and white (and it is not facebook so stop grouching ). They also keep you id at the entrance, and you will take it when you will leave ( even better for you, because you will not lose it somewhere inside the camping! )

And after all the boring procedures, you are finally inside the camping! You only have to find a place to put your tents, and you are ready for the real weekend.

This is the really difficult part. A lot of people go at the opening of Poseidi to set up their tents and leave and come back during the summer, so except the people who are there, there will be for sure some extra tents, so less available space for you.

However, the 'begginer's luck ' is on your side, so after only one hour of looking around you have found enough space to set up all the tents and your new hammock. Also it seems that it is a place with plenty of shadow in the morning. You've just experienced a miracle!

I don't believe that no one of you knows how to set up a tent, don't be lazy people, it will take you ten minutes!

Well, now you are 100 percent ready to do whatever you want! It is still afternoon, and you are feeling that you are melting from the sun, so what is better than going to the beach? Go to the beach and not forget to take the sunscream with you! You don't want to look like a tomato at night and spend all your money in yogurts to heal your sunburns.

Wear your swimming suit, take all the necessary equipment and run to the sea. There you will have your first ''eye-contact'' with the beach bar. If you don't like the sun, there are some tables there where you can sit under the shadow and you don't have to order anything.

The sun is very hot so you decide to leave your stuff there and go for a dive, while your unlucky friend who is in the ''bad days'' will stay upstairs and be jealous of you.

You try to pass from the crowd that is lying on the sand without filling their faces with sand. It is a very hard task to try being careful and fast at the same time, because the sand is extremely hot.

AA finally water!

You feel alive again. You decide to stay inside for an hour and swim a bit. After you showed all your swimming skills to each other, let's go to find your friend. She's alone and probably bored.

Hopefully she was smart and brought a book with her, so she is still reading her book. When you come back to her, it's time for the coffee!

An unwritten law of Poseidi is that when you stay a lot of time there, you never buy something from the beach bar, because you will run out of money more easy. However, you are there just for a weekend and it is your first time, so you don't go with the rule.

You are in Greece, so, to go with the tradition you order greek ''frappe'', except one of you who is more hardcore and decides to start already the beers. Nice choice!

You drink your coffees and beer while chatting and of course looking around what is going on. You are already excited with seeing so many young people gathered in the same place for holidays.

The sports fan of this company, sees the beach volley court, and decides to enter a team and show his skills to the opponents. The other ones, just continue chatting and relaxing under the shadow.

After a couple of hours the sun is not so hot anymore, so you decide to move down to the beach to hang there, swim and stay until the sunset.

The time passed so fast and it is almost 8. 30 in the evening. Who is hungry? After so many hours at the beach, of course everyone. Now there is the big question: What to do first? Have a shower or eat? You decide to split and because while I am writting this blog i feel hungry, i will follow the team that decided to go for dinner first.

The line at the restaurant is a bit long, but it will take you not a long time to get inside. The restaurant closes at 10, so at that time the options of what to eat are not so many. However there is always the easy solution of spaghetti with minched meat, or fried potatoes with a kind of meat, options that exists no matter what time you go there.

You made your choice : Chicken with fried potatoes it is! You take also a peach, a cucumber and tomato salad and a piece of bread and go to the cashier to pay. You take out your card, and the screen shows 3. 50 or 3. 80 euros. Ok, could be of course cheaper, but still you know that you will feel full even before finishing your dish.

Someone else takes the spaghetti, and the other ones rice with meat. Everyone tries a bit from the other dishes, and you realize that you were expecting the food to be much worse, but finally it is quite tasty.

You eat a bit fast because you want to go for a shower before all the people come from the beach and it will get crowded. You take back your dish when you finish, and start heading to your tents.

You can see many people waiting outside the showers while you are going back, so you know that the ''begginer's luck '' is no more with you. Who cares? You are on holidays.

Some of you decide that you will not have a shower tonight, the salt of the sea is therapeutic anyway, but the others go into the line for the shower.

The ones that stay behind, go to buy some beers from the bakery and sit around the hammock to relax. The two lucky ones who were first there are on the hammock, but your smart choice to bring chairs with you, will not leave anyone disappointed.

Some of you start feeling a bit tired and decide to go inside the tents for a nap. The hardcore ones who don't feel like sleeping, will be used as an alarm for the others to start the pre-drinking and playing games.

While the beer team is finishing its first beer, the other ones who went for a shower have gotten back, and have found some friends and decided to meet altogether later and play the drinking game ''Ring of fire''.

The ''clean '' people hadn't had dinner yet and the restaurant has unfortunately just closed. However, now it is the time it's being transformed into a canteen, so they go to buy burgers with fries and sandwiches with chicken to eat for a dinner. Some of them who are very hungry, buy even two sandwiches for themselves and eat them in less than 10 minutes. This is what happens when you don't eat the whole day and go to the beach.

After they are full, it's time to start the pre-drinking. Now everyone has to wake up!

You have to find a big table now, to play the best drinking game ''ring on fire''. You can find big tables outside the mini market and the restaurant. Firstly you go to the mini-market but you are unlucky and every table is full.Next option is to try the restaurant. Luckily, you find one empty table for you and your friends and you decide to stay there.

You go to the mini market to buy a 3litre bottle of traditional cheap white wine, called retsina to play ring of fire. You decide to call some more people also to play with you.

Now it's time to start the game. After the first five rounds, all of you start feeling a little bit dizzy, but it's still early to go to the beach bar because it will be still empty.

What to do now? Do you think it is time to meet some new people?

The answer is of course yes!

You start walking around the tents. People are having small parties everywhere or they just stop you to have a conversation and give you a free drink. You found the ''coolest'' company in your opinion and you've decided to hang out with them.

Some of you decide to walk around and find other people to hang out with.

Heyy, you found the friends that you had said before to play altogether. They teach you some more drinking games and you play with them.

After you have drunk enough, i think it's time to finally go to the legendary beach bar.It is already full of people. but you find some space to dance and show your 'moves'. You start feeling hot and take a break from the dancing to go for a dive.

Now you feel much better and you can continue your dancing.

After three hours of non-stop dancing, i think it's time to go back to the tents. The sun has already risen up and you are bored even to brush your teeth, but it's ok you can do it, i believe in you.

Day number 2: Saturday

The next day you wake up a bit tired but excited from your experience so far. You just need to eat some breakfast and drink a cold coffee and then you will feel better.

This morning you are more lucky so you find a bench outside the mini -market to enjoy your coffee under the shadow. You also play some games with cards until all of your friends wake up to go to the beach.

Finally, after one hour everyone is awake and ready to spend the whole day at the beach. You put on your swimming suits, take a pair of rackets with you and are ready to go. You are heading to the beach bar when you realize that you forgot to take some water with you. too bad, someone has to go back to the tents to bring, who will be the lucky one?

The rest of you decide where you want to go. Some suggest the idea of going further at the beach, where there is not so much crowd, and you can also have more space to play rackets. For a strange reason everyone agrees to walk under the hot sun, so you start heading away from the crowd.

After half an hour you are finally close to the end of the coast that i was telling you in part one, called ''Miti''.

When you get there, you realize that the long distance under the sun was for a reason. The sea is much cleaner than it is below the beach bar, you have plenty of space to leave your stuff without keeping an eye at them all the time and you can easily spend you whole day there and relax.

You decide to stay there until the sunset. Then, i know what you are all thinking? FOOD. Yes it's time to eat. Until you get from the beach, you feel so hungry that you could react like a hannibal. No people, don't eat each other please, just make a picture in your mind of the chicken an the potatoes that are waiting for you.

After you are all finished with the food, it is time to take a shower. I haven't forgot that some of you didn't have a shower yesterday, so please today you need to use a lot of shampoo.

Full of food, clean and ready for action! How to start the night? Someone saw that there is a movie at the cinema, so you like the idea of something chill for the beggining. Some of you go to the mini-market to buy beers and pop-corn for the movie and the others go to find where the cinema is located and keep some seats for everyone.

Ok the movie was not so good, but it is still early so you have the whole night in front of you! Tonight you don't want to follow the last night's scedule. Let's do something different. There's a small playground before going to the beach bar, you can hand around there for a while.

After feeling again like a child, you decide to walk around the tents. You hear loud music coming from everywhere, because almost everyone brings big speakers.It is like a competition, whoever is more loud, wins. So, you find the company of people that plays the best music for you, and decide to hand around with them. I don't think you feel shy and are afraid to talk to them, you are already 24 hours here so you know how it works. Everyone is a friend with everyone.

Your new friends are in the mood of going to the beach bar, but you don't want to go two days in a row. You find your friends that came all together and decide that you all want to buy something to drink and go to the beach and stay there. You buy all the important stuff from the mini- market and start heading to the beach.It is almost 4 in the night, but the beach bar seems empty.

You find a nice space under the beach bar to stay there, because it is nice to have some music as a background. The night is hot, so some of you decide to go for a night dive. I have to tell you, that the other ones who decided not to dive, will regret it. The sea is much better and cleaner in the night.

The time passed so fast and it is already six in the morning. The sun starts to rise and you turn around and see a beach bar full of people. People are also coming down to the beach because there is no space for everyone up there. You make a try to inside the beach bar, but it is impossible so you go back to the beach and dance thre with your friends.

One last dive in the morning before going to sleep would be the best closure for this night. Heyy even the ones who didn't want to go into the sea in the night, decided to take a dive now. Perfect! The sea is amazing and the sun is shining so good that is doesn't make you feel hot or cold. The best temperature.

Let's eat now a breakfast or dinner or however you want to call it before going to bed. Who has the power to wash his teeth? Eeem, no one today!

Day number 3 : Sunday

Unofortunately, today you have to say goodbye to the camping. You can't believe that the weekend passed so fast, and even though your body feels tired due to the lack of sleep, your mind feels so full of energy that you could stay there the whole summer. Too bad that you have already tickets for your next holiday destination. Now that you know, next year you will come and stay much longer.

You go one last time to the bakery to eat your breakfast and coffee, and start talking to each other about the opinions and experiences eveyone had from this trip. The common point is that all of you want to come back again!

You have some time until the bus arrives, so you can go for a last dive at the beach. Some of you are still hungry and decide to go to the restaurant for some lunch. The important is that you all have to meet each other in one hour at the tents, to start packing your stuff.

Packing is the most boring procedure when you go camping, because you almost always forget something back because you have so many things. But you are a big company and you can consider yourselves as organized people, so in less than one hour everything is packed and you don't miss anything.

You go to the entrance to check out yourselves and take back your Identiites. The bus is already there waiting for you, so some of you start taking the stuff inside while the others are busy with the check- out.

I hope no one has run out of money, because you have to pay the ticket for the bus also. If someone was too ''large '' in the weekend and now is without money, don't make him stay there without money, lend him some money, he's your friend!

Everyone is ready to take off. You get inside the bus, take a last look at the camping, and already know that next summer you will be here! Until then enjoy the rest of the year !
