Why did you choose to go to Gijon, Spain?
Because I wanted to learn Spanish and my options were limited.
How long is the scholarship? How much money do you receive to help you with living costs?
My scholarship is very low but my family always sent me money and rents are expensive you must know that.
What is the student lifestyle like in Gijon?
It is really fun for who loves partying but teachers can not speak English very well.
Would you recommend the city and the University of Gijon to other students?
It's a hard question depends on person.
What is the food like?
Terrible for me (sorry).
How much does it cost to live in Gijon?
500 euro for a month.
Is the language easy to get to grips with? Are there language courses available at the University?
The biggest problem is the language. People really can not speak English so you must learn Spanish (maybe basic level). Courses not for beginners you must have medium level at least.
What's the easiest or most economical way to travel to Gijon from your city?
My family live in Istanbul, so I flight to Madrid then I came by train.
Where would you recommend going on a night out in Gijon?
El Habana or Picaro.
And for eating? Can you recommend some good restaurants in Gijon?
No, they are terrible.
What good cultural sites are there to visit?
We went to aquarium that's it I'm sorry.
Is there any other advice that you could give to students going to Gijon in the future?
You must learn some Spanish words and you must learn how to deal with the drunk people.
