The first night in Geneva I stayed in the Tiffany Hotel. This was a very important time for me as I was supposed to spend my time running around and getting myself organized for my six month Erasmus in the city. I had to choose the Hotel tactically based upon the errands I needed to run, but I must admit the name attracted me the most. I mean which girl is not attracted by Tiffany?!

This hotel is situated in the center of Geneva’s theater and cultural area close to the Grand Theatre in Place de Neuf and the Modern Art Museum. The Hotel itself reflects its artistic surroundings with its Art Nouveau Style coupled with its modern rooms.

As you enter you walk into the reception where you will be warmly welcomed by the staff. They give you your room keys and that's it- very quick and efficient. I was based on the second floor so I went up in an old-fashioned elevator straight to my room.

The rooms are very spacious with double beds in a contemporary decor. The rooms have minimal décor with very natural motifs creating a calming and elegant ambiance. Each is fully-equipped and includes Wi-Fi, television, mini bar, individually controlled air conditioning and heating and a Nespresso machine.

The Tiffany Hotel offers a few options when it comes to food. When the weather is beautiful you can enjoy your meal up on the Tiffany terrace, enjoying both the sun and the food.

Breakfast at Tiffany’s? Well, breakfast is served as a large buffet with fresh fruit, cereals, eggs, ham, cheese and more. On Saturdays and Sundays between 11 AM and 2. 30 PM you can opt for the brunch option which includes little meals as well as the usual breakfast buffet.

The Tiffany Hotel Restaurant has an extensive menu with various options including salads, beef tartars, bulgur risotto, pasta, duck fillet and sole. The dessert menu includes delicious options such as mango panna cotta, floating island with Tahitian vanilla or a roasted baby pineapple, spicy caramel and iced parfait. The cuisine is unique and fresh, based on seasonal products; unlike most hotels, the food here is absolutely delicious.

For something slightly lighter such as tapas, head over to the Tiffany bar for some quick nibbles or your classic afternoon tea coupled with pastries. The cozy area has perfect atmosphere to sit and relax.

In the Hotel there is also a Wellness center including a gym, sauna, Turkish bath and a massage room. This center is ideal for a day of relaxation; after a day of running around Geneva organizing my university and opening up bank accounts and phone contracts there was nothing I wanted more than to go to sauna and relax.
