What is it like to live in Funchal? Would you recommend? How is the city?
Funchal is a fantastic place to live. It has beach and has something for everyone, it's very safe and has a high quality of life. The weather is spectacular! We get rain and sunshine at the same day in various parts of the island. And for those who do not like the freezing cold, it is the ideal place!

How is student life in Funchal?
Madeira Island is not very big but it's not too small either, it is enough to be happy, the students are friendly and you will certainly feel like you're in a familiar environment.

On average, how much did you spend when living in Funchal?
It all depends on what the person is looking for, but in general you will find it's affordable and the products of good quality.
Is it difficult to find accommodation in Funchal? Do you have any advice you can give?
You can find apartments online for rent, sharing rooms is always cheaper, or else the youth hostel is also an accessible and pleasant place for students.
How's the food? What are your favourite delicacies?
The Portuguese food is very good and tasty. Madeira Island is known for skewered beef kebab, fried maize, no one can go to Madeira Island without tasting the typical Madeira bread! All things considered, it's worth it!

Which places would you recommend visiting in Funchal?
There are many interesting places to visit, from the center of Funchal to Caniçal, walking amongst the midst of nature and ending with taking a dip in the sea. There are activities for every taste.
What is the quality of the restaurants in Funchal? Can you tell us which are the best restaurants to eat?
I am a vegetarian, but here you can find many restaurants with affordable prices and always well served. I like Casa Italia and Milho's Bakery, amongst others.

What is the nightlife in Funchal like? What are the best spots?
There are always events going on somewhere on the island, but students usually take advantage of the town centre when going to bars and nightclubs. A night out can end up going on until sunrise.
What advice would you give to future students going to Funchal?
I think they will love it, make the most of it and get to know the island, but don't forget to study too. ;)
