What is it like to live in Funchal? Would you recommend it? What is the city like?

Its great to live in Funchal, mostly because you feel very secure and its a calm island with most of the times good weather and a lot to visit and discover.

What is the student lifestyle like in Funchal?

I think it is harder than the other countries because we have a different way of teatching wich is more intense and difficult.

How much does it cost to live in Funchal?

It depends but i dont think its expensive!

Is it difficult to find accommodation in Funchal? Is there any advice you can give?

Student accomodation its not that easy but if youre here for holidays its super easy because we have a lot of different hotels and places for tourists.

What is the food like? What are your favourite dishes?

The food is wonderful, if you visit Madeira you have to try Espetada and Bolo do Caco because its our traditional food and everybody loves it including me wich is weird because im really picky when it comes to food.Also you have to try our traditional drink wich is called Poncha.

What places would you recommend visiting in Funchal?

Theres a lot of them but i would defenitly recommend Cabo Girão, Porto Moniz, Caniçal and of course the city Funchal.

Is it good to eat out in Funchal? Can you tell us your favourite spots?

It is very good, i would reccommend in any restaurant in Caniçal if your a fish lover and if youre a meat lover i would say Viola Restaurant

Is the nightlife good in Funchal? Where is good to go?

I acctually dont aprreciate night life but if you do you can go to Vespas, Copacabana, or Outlet bar.

What advice would you give future students heading to Funchal?

My advice would have to be dont bring warm clothes because we dont have a lot of cold days and try to enjoy and visit the Island as much as you can and im sure you will fall in love!
