I've been for a month working in Frankfurt am Main in 2009 with the European project Leonardo Tesi.
It was a wonderful experience! Frankfurt is very beautiful: the city center is full of shops and malls, people are nice, you can find a lot of pubs and bars and the food is good.
Transports are always in time (they're never late and they're very efficient) and you can choose between underground, tram, and Stadtbahn (a sort of underground but it has fewer stations).
I was in a Hostel with other people coming from Italy and we also met people from Canarias.
In Frankfurt you will have a lot of fun, especially in summer, because the weather is for the most of the time marvelous!
