Hello, guys! Yesterday we visited Ciğerci Ahmet restaurant during our lunch break. I found out that this place is very famous in Eskisehir city, Turkey. Famous because of its food, coffee and other delights that are on the menu. Moreover, people from other cities are coming to visit this restaurant, so it means that this restaurant is worth trying it.
When we went there yesterday, it was 11 in the morning, and we had to wait for some time to open. They told us it is open mostly from 11:30 a.m. We had to wait little longer because they needed more time to prepare. They were cleaning the parking lot, tables, making food and workers were just coming before the opening. Actually from outside restaurant was looking not so unique (compared to other restaurants in this city), but when we went inside it was looking exquisite. I liked the interior; also I found that restaurant is huge. Wherever you look, you can find unusual items, souvenirs on the walls, some of them are traditional Turkish items.
You can find antique items from ancient times. For example, counting machines, rectifiers, carpets, more traditional Turkish clothing, Ottoman Empire times clothing and so many other things. As far as I heard from other people, this restaurant is very crowded during the evenings. People are mostly coming in the evening to have a dinner.
Our stay to Ciğerci Ahmet
We have ordered Harran Kebap (chicken kebap), homemade ayran (national drink of Turkey, which consists of drinkable yoghurt and salt) and menengiç coffee (Turkish coffee made from pistachios and milk). Firstly they brought us traditional Turkish yoghurt which I like. While tasting it, I found the taste so different from any other traditional yoghurt drinks I have tasted. In the beginning, I did not like the taste, just because it was so different from me. Later when my tongue got used to the taste, I found it very delicious. I wanted to taste it again and again. Also, they did not bring ayran in plastic packages or bottles like everyone else. They brought it in a metal bowl which was decorated; it is unusual.
Later our Harran Kebap came! The table was so full of everything, of course, because four people were eating it. Grilled green peppers, onions, salads (which consisted of cucumbers, tomatoes and some other vegetables), bread, cooked chicken in a form of shashlik and so many other plates.
After the lunch, we were full, and finally, it was time to taste my favourite coffee which is under the name of Menengiç! I remember I was trying this coffee with my Turkish friend in another restaurant. From the very first time, it became my favourite one! Thanks so much! When they brought us my favourite coffee, I was pleased to see how good were the cups. Metallic cups with decorations, I took magnificent photos. It was the first thing I did when the coffee was on the table :D Actually I enjoyed this coffee so much, I would like to learn how to cook it. I have heard it is not that difficult. Guys, if you are staying in this city, be sure to see this place!
Services
I could give 8 points out of 10. I gave less just because restaurant opened later than the real opening time. There were more than 20 waiters working that time we have visited. Waiters are always passing through your table if you have finished your food they are taking away in sudden, no need to call them. Also, I found that waitresses are dressed in traditional clothes, I could not get my eyes off. Nevertheless, you can eat while enjoying live traditional Turkish music. You can enjoy the music just during the evenings. Next time if I go there, I will go only in the nighttime for the music.
Interior
I found the restaurant inside stunning, but the outside for me looked like little village :D Inside you can see too many things that are attractive to your eyes. I am giving 10 points out of 10 for the restaurant. I enjoyed eating in such enjoyable atmosphere.
Food
I like the food there. It is very delicious and chefs are making it excellent, not like is some other restaurants. No wonder why this place is famous. The chicken was very taste, but I have tasted the better chicken. There are so many foods to try eating in this restaurant, if I tried more, I could tell. But for sure, you will not be disappointed eating here :)
Prices
I have not paid for the lunch, but all assortment in the menu you can find quite expensive. For coffee, four people lunch and Turkish yoghurt drink we have paid 125 TL (Turkish Lira). Converted to the euro, it would be 37.
