Today I would like to introduce you to Palmiye Cafe. It is located near Porsuk River of Eskisehir. I have discovered this place at the end of my first Erasmus mobility in Anadolu University.
Introduction
Palmiye cafe is one of many cafes located near the Porsuk river. From the first sight, this cafe could seem quite small, but it is not as it looks. Palmiye cafe is entirely open area place, which is very nice to hang out in evenings. It also has the second floor which looks like a terrace.
Interior
I like this place very much because of how it looks during the dark time of the day. It has a lot of decorations, which are lightened up the later evening. Moreover, this cafe is clean, and there are a lot of tables to sit.
Services
In my opinion, services are very standard. To tell the truth, it is nothing special. As is other cafes and restaurants, waiters are always asking if you need something. Few times during your stay they are coming to clean your table and empty the trash tray if you smoke. In Turkey, it is a normal type of services, but when you compare to European standards, they are splendid. I would give 6/10 points.
Prices
We have not tried eating in this cafe, but it is worth coming for tea. It is one of the most cheapie places to have a cup of tea. However, tea cups are little smaller, but if you are trying to save money, it is worth coming here. At the moment one cup of tea costs 1.75 Turkish Lira. Because of tea, I would give 8/10 points
What to do here?
In my point of view, it is a very pleasant place to come over to have a conversation with your close friend. Moreover, you can ask the waiter to bring you Tavla which is the Turkish version of backgammon. Most of the time we spend in Palmiye Cafe we play Tavla. Also, there are some other games you can ask for, and they are totally free!
