What is it like to live in Erlangen? Would you recommend it? What is the city like?
Erlangen is a city made for students. On every corner there is a nice coffee store or bar, where you can find many other students. As most students drive by bike, Erlangen is also known as the city of bikes. With own train and bus station you can reach nearly every city in Germany. The city isn't as big that you could feel lost, but not as small that it would be boring staying there.
How much does it cost to live in Erlangen?
Rooms in Erlangen are usually very expensive because the city is very popular for students. A room costs about 300-400€ per month.
Is it difficult to find accommodation in Erlangen? Is there any advice you can give?
Usually Germans tend to say that people in the area are unfriendly and not really sociable but that isn't true. Getting in touch with new people is really easy and if you have any questions everyone would help you.
Is it good to eat out in Erlangen? Can you tell us your favourite spots?
In Erlangen there are many small restaurants, bars and pubs, which are mostly overfilled on weekends.
What advice would you give future students heading to Erlangen?
You should look at the website of the University. There are always Special Meetings for foreign students.
