How long is the scholarship? How much money do you receive to help you with living costs?

I had an Erasmus scholarship for two semesters. It covered about half of my living costs.

What is the student lifestyle like in Erlangen?

I would say I was not a typical Erasmus student because I had to be every day in the lab for many hours. I can say though that my friends had lots of parties. Almost everyday.

Would you recommend the city and the University of Erlangen to other students?

The city doesn't have many alternative options for entertainment but since Nuremberg is so close of course I would recommend it. As about the University of Erlangen I would say that it's pretty great, there is a lot of money for research. I am a PhD student here now.

What is the food like?

Food is cheap here. Comparing to Greece, there is a huge difference. I like german cuisine as well.

Did it cost you to find your accommodation in Erlangen?

Not really, accommodation was arranged by the International office. Many thanks about that. When I had to find an apartment by myself in Erlangen I realized that it's not that easy!

Plane.

I like Havana bar, Hinterhaus.

And for eating? Can you recommend some good restaurants in Erlangen?

Tio, Hirosakao, Moireo, Tapas bar.

What good cultural sites are there to visit?

Not sure.

Is there any other advice that you could give to students going to Erlangen in the future?

It depends at what age they are. My advice would be' take advantage of your studying time in Germany for the older ones. For the young students I guess, enjoy your time here, don't drink too much, make lots of friends and always wear condoms.
