Why did you decide to go to Dublin, Ireland?
To discover Irish culture, which really appealed to me, and improve my English.
How long is your stay? What did you receive as a grant?
I am staying for one academic year, I don't have the exact sum.
How is the student atmosphere in Dublin?
Really pleasant and convivial, there are a lot of foreign students.
Would you recommend the city and the university to other students?
Yes.
How is the food in this country?
There's rather a good quality of food but I haven't eaten the typical dishes yet.
Did you have difficulties finding accommodation in Dublin?
Yes, enormous difficulties - I spent three weeks in a hostel, during which time my classes had already started. Hostel prices are expensive, there is a large demand.
What is the cost of living in Dublin?
Rent, cigarettes and alcohol are extremely expensive, food is OK. And outings aren't excessively dear.
How is learning the language? Did you attend any language courses organised by the university?
The Irish accent is difficult to understand at the beginning, but I feel that I am improving more and more. Yes, I have language classes.
What is the cheapest way to arrive in Dublin from your city?
By plane.
Which places would you recommend for partying in Dublin?
The Button Factory, Temple Bar, Dtwo.
And to eat in Dublin? Where are your favourite places?
I haven't eaten out much, apart from takeaways.
And which cultural visits would you recommend?
The Dublin City bus tour - this gives you a tour of Dublin and let lets you see the main cultural monuments.
Advice to future Dublin students?
Beware of scams in accommodations that are very big, and don't trust the landlord if they ask to be paid in advance of you arriving in Dublin.
