Experience in Dublin, Ireland by Anna

What is it like to live in Dublin? Would you recommend it? What is the city like?

Dublin is a very nice place, in and out of lockdown. When in lockdown you still are able to have a nice day at the park where everyone seems to be super respectful and laidback.

What is the student lifestyle like in Dublin?

Student life in Dublin is hard to say since I’ve only experienced being a student during COVID. While here for vacations, it is easy to meet people in nightlife.

How much does it cost to live in Dublin?

It is very expensive to live in Dublin. You don’t realize how much you spend till you are getting alerts from your bank haha

Is it difficult to find accommodation in Dublin? Is there any advice you can give?

It is quite difficult as a student. Most accommodation is offered to students but they also house professionals. As a student, I would prefer living with other students.

What is the food like? What are your favourite dishes?

Definitely get a spice bag while here!

What places would you recommend visiting in Dublin?

Stephen’s Green, Phoenix Park, Dun Laoghaire, and Powerscourt

There are so many options, however Zambrero is my favorite! It’s a burrito shop

Is the nightlife good in Dublin? Where is good to go?

Nightlife in Dublin is good. Places to go are different depending on your style. Workmans if you’re alternative, Harcourt Street if you are more preppy/like pop music, and Tramline if you enjoy rap/electronic music

What advice would you give future students heading to Dublin?

Time flies by here.
The weather is not extreme at all or as bad as Irish people say it is.
Keep track of your spendings.
Carry a backpack with a few smaller bags to the store for groceries.
Don’t only explore Dublin.
Meet new people!
