Living in Dublin

Atmosphere

Dublin is an amazing place to study. The people are friendly and generous, the city itself is beautiful and the best thing of all is the great atmosphere there. There is live music on every street, young people everywhere, and plenty of pubs! There are people from all over the world, which gives you the opportunity to get to know many new cultures, plus learn and see so many new and different things. If you´re careful with your money, it´s not an extremely expensive place to live, and I would say it´s quite cheap.

Food

Traditional Irish food isn´t the best in the world, but it´s certainly not bad either. Fresh fish is scarce and fruit and vegetables aren´t that common, and of worse quality than in Spain, but the dairy products and meat are good.

Transport

The transport is good, all the buses are double decker ones and run regularly. For living and studying I recommend the town i lived in, Maynooth, very close to Dublin and reachable by bus.

Maynooth

Maynooth (NUI Maynooth) is one of the best universities in Ireland, as well as being incredibly beautiful. It´s a quiet town, attractive and cheap too. There´s a student hall of residence on campus, but I wouldn´t recommend it, there are lots of other residences. There´s a great university atmosphere, and the majority of the population are young students who come from all over the world to study in Dublin.
