Why did you choose to go to Dublín, Irlanda?

Because of the language and I had been always interested in Ireland.

How long is the scholarship? How much money do you receive to help you with living costs?

I think I got around 3000 euros for 10 months, which wasn't even totally enough to cover up the costs of my accommodation, but it's still better than nothing!

What is the student lifestyle like in Dublín?

There are many international and Erasmus students everywhere in the city. It's very easy to make friends if you are outgoing and friendly. I wasn't staying at the Griffith's but many of us did, so there were many pre-drinkings and house parties which were so much fun! I would recommend you to join to one of the many clubs and societies at the university. It's a good opportunity to meet with Irish students as well.

Would you recommend the city and the University of Dublín to other students?

Definitely! I enjoyed every day there! I think the city has just the right size for an Erasmus year/semester. After the first month there I decided to stay there for a whole year and not only for a semester...

What is the food like?

Well.... If you like cooking you will be fine. But there are many take aways, fast food restaurants and you can get soups and sandwiches everywhere.

Did it cost you to find your accommodation in Dublín?

You can find accommodations to share on http://www.daft.ie.

How much does it cost to live in Dublín?

Dublin is pretty expensive comparing to e. g. Budapest, especially if you are very outgoing and would like to travel in Ireland and in the neighbour countries.

Is the language easy to get to grips with? Are there language courses available at the University?

Yes, there are language courses available at DIT (that's the college where I was studying) and the teachers are not difficult to understand during the classes. But Irish people have a very strong accent which is not easy to understand.

What's the easiest or most economical way to travel to Dublín from your city?

By airplane.

Where would you recommend to go on a night out in Dublín?

D2, Copper's, Dicey's Garden and Temple Bar, but there are so many pubs in the whole city!

What good cultural sites are there to visit?

The Guinness Museum, Trinity College, Old Distillery.
