How much does it cost to live in Debrecen?

Yo need 350€ to survive + 150€ to live + 100€ for comfort + as much as you can.

A dorm room for 3 people costs 40. 000Ft per person/month and includes everything in 2017 (34. 000Ft in 2016).

If you want rent a home it costs 100. 000Ft (+ 25. 000Ft) for 2 people.

* 0. 5L water 300Ft, 1. 5L water 150Ft, 2L water 60Ft.

* Beers at market ~200Ft, at bar ~400Ft.

* A meal outside costs between 1. 000-2. 000Ft per person.

Is it difficult to find accommodation in Debrecen? Is there any advice you can give?

Money talks. Check Facebook groups and real estate websites, usually you have to pay a 2 month deposit (one of it for middleman).

A hungarian friend can be really useful.

What is the food like? What are your favourite dishes?

Try Lángos with cheese and sour cream.

What places would you recommend visiting in Debrecen?

Walk in Nagyerdei Park (I have never had any problem but be two just for security).

Aquaticum Thermal can be the best place in Debrecen (but can be boring if you go alone).

Fácánkakas is a nice local bar (cash only but cheap place).

Is it good to eat out in Debrecen? Can you tell us your favourite spots?

Cook for yourself, Debrecen is not a good choice if you are expect nice restaurants and a living city, but I can recommend Meteor Gyros for tasty fast food and it is also open until 1 a. m.

If you want pocket delivery from anywhere it took 1 hour, go and grab it yourself.

Is the nightlife good in Debrecen? Where is good to go?

It is not the best. I prefer partying in my friend's place. But you can try Roncs.

What advice would you give future students heading to Debrecen?

If you are coming from a big city, think again about it. If you are searching a quiet small "city", Debrecen is good for you.
