Why did you choose to go to Debrecen, Hungary?

I have visited Hungary before and I loved the country. The Debrecen University is the most recognizable university in Hungary for engineering, thats why I'm here.

What is the student lifestyle like in Debrecen?

Debrecen in my opinion is full of students. We usually hang out in the university campus during the week days. But on the weekends we go to parties.

Would you recommend the city and the University of Debrecen to other students?

If you're really coming to study and focus on your education, then yes. Debrecen is a very quiet city. The university is great and challenging. They have very good variety of majors.

What is the food like?

It's good, they have the normal food like everywhere else. They have some traditional dishes too if you would like to try the hungarian dishes.

Did it cost you to find your accommodation in Debrecen?

No, I contacted an agency called "Great Forest" and they got me an apartment near my major building.

How much does it cost to live in Debrecen?

Bills usually cost 100-120$, other expenses would be up to you: grocery shopping, clothes shopping, etc. The country is not expensive, you need to find the good price places.

Is the language easy to get to grips with? Are there language courses available at the University?

Their language is very nice and the university offers courses. And if not, there are still centers that teach you outside of the university.

What's the easiest or most economical way to travel to Debrecen from your city?

I live in Egypt, so I take an airplane from Cairo to Budapest, then a train from Budapest to Debrecen.

Where would you recommend to go on a night out in Debrecen?

Shine or Mickeyz Club.

Palma Pub is the best place to eat in Debrecen, followed by a restaurant called IKON.
