Why did you choose to go to Debrecen, Hungary?

I wanted the place where there is not much rush and less population, and there the calm environment is perfect for studies. So, I didn't go for any big countries and capitals.

How long is the scholarship? How much money do you receive to help you with living costs?

I don't have the scholarship yet. I have applied it, but the scholarship is till the entire course. For example: if it's bachelors then entire 3 years.

It gives around 250 euros per month for your living cost.

What is the student lifestyle like in Debrecen?

Student lifestyle is awesome here, there are lot of grounds where you play cricket, football, american soccer, etc. There are lot of places where you can go for bowling, pool, etc. So, the time here is well spent.

Would you recommend the city and the University of Debrecen to other students?

Yes, of course. The studies here is amazing and teachers are really helpful. There are so many libraries, which can help you a lot.

What is the food like?

Food here is a bit spicy. But not spicy from the Indian food.

Did it cost you to find your accommodation in Debrecen?

Yes, as I have no scholarship.

How much does it cost to live in Debrecen?

If you have found roommates, then its not very costly it is around 125 euros per month. If you prefer to leave alone then it is going to be around 250 euros per month.

Is the language easy to get to grips with? Are there language courses available at the University?

No, the language is difficult to grasp.

What's the easiest or most economical way to travel to Debrecen from your city?

As I am from India so, by plane till Budapest and then train to Debrecen.

Where would you recommend to go on a night out in Debrecen?

There are pubs here where you can visit at night. The party starts at 12 a. m. to 4 a. m.

And for eating? Can you recommend some good restaurants in Debrecen?

If you want to eat Indian food then Kashmir India restaurant is awesome.

And if you like to eat any other dishes, then Swadee Restaurant is best.

If you are vegetarian then you can choose above two as well. But, for vegan people my best recommendation will be Govinda Restaurant.

What good cultural sites are there to visit?

The Great Reformed Church is a good place, Water Tank near aquaticum...

Is there any other advice that you could give to students going to Debrecen in the future?

If you are coming to Debrecen my only advice will be either learn the basics of the language used here otherwise first few days will be difficult or make a contact with a person who lives in Debrecen and can help you out.
