How long is the scholarship? How much money do you receive to help you with living costs?

My course is 3 years long and I received a Student Loan from the government to help to cover the cost of housing.

What is the student lifestyle like in Coventry?

Really good! Academically students are pushed, but as well as this there are so many societies and sports to get involved with.

Would you recommend the city and the University of Coventry to other students?

Yes!

What is the food like?

The food in the Student Union is delicious and cheap. In town there are lots of popular restaurant chains that do great food.

Did it cost you to find your accommodation in Coventry?

No. First year I was in Student Accommodation (Singer Hall) and then I have found a house to live in with my friends.

How much does it cost to live in Coventry?

Weekly I probably spend about £30/40 (on food/ nights out/ sports/ gym membership) and my accommodation is £70 a week.

Is the language easy to get to grips with? Are there language courses available at the University?

Yes, there are language courses available at the university. Lots of the compulsory Add+Vantage modules are languages.

What's the easiest or most economical way to travel to Coventry from your city?

Train!

Where would you recommend to go on a night out in Coventry?

Hush, Kasbah, Careys, Square 1 (the Student Union), Quids Inn, The Establishment, Platinum

And for eating? Can you recommend some good restaurants in Coventry?

Pizza Express, Noodle Bar (my favourite), Nandos, Harvester, Cafe Rouge, Cosmos and loads more.

What good cultural sites are there to visit?

  • The Cathedral
  • The Transport Museum
  • Warwick Castle (in Warwick)
  • Lots of Parks

Is there any other advice that you could give to students going to Coventry in the future?

Get an NUS card as many nightclubs/ shops give big discount to NUS holders!

Get involved in a sport!
